At Glossop Motors we offer a full range of vehicle garage services.

MOT

We are probably the busiest MOT station in the Northwest, conducting over 350 MOT's each month.

With two MOT lanes, an excellent range of equipment and a team of well-qualified and experienced mechanics we are able to deliver a prompt service, even at short notice.

In the event of a test failure, we will re-test free of charge within 14 days, irrespective of whether or not you chose us to undertake the remedial work.

The MOT station is open every day from 7.30 am. Our customers find this to be extremely convenient, allowing them to fix a test appointment before or after work.

Charge Rates

Our rates are as follows:

1. Motor car - £45
2. Class 7 (up to 3.5T) - £45
3. Class 5 (minibuses up to 16 seats) - £45

HGV MOT Pre-test

Vehicle over 3.5T must be tested by the Department of Transport. We have an HGV rolling road and are able to conduct the pre-test and preparatory work for HGV MOT's.

Garage Services

We undertake repair work of the highest standard to all types of vehicles - private, commercial and HGV.

We have extensive facilities on our expansive site and enjoy a high level of repeat business from regular customers. Brake and clutch replacement, engine diagnostics and general repairs.

We have 3 tyre / exhaust bays and are very competitive for tyre and exhaust fitting.

In our body shop we repair accident damage and undertake insurance and vehicle restoration work.

Vehicle Recovery Service

Our vehicle recovery service is especially popular with fleet operators as we are able to undertake recovery from light loads to heavy loads of 60 tonnes. Bus and coach operators are also amongst our clients.

 

We operate a comprehensive recovery fleet including:

• 4 light recovery trucks – up to 3.5T gross.
• 2 heavy recovery wagons - up to 60T.
• Numerous passenger support vehicles which enable us to transport passengers involved in bus and coach recovery.
• Our haulage fleet enables us to deal with spilt loads and re-loading from commercial and haulage vehicle recovery.

We are appointed to the Derbyshire police recovery scheme for Derbyshire and all of our recovery specialists are trained to industry standards. We can do heavy and light recovery up to 60 tonnes.

Charging Rates

Two factors are combined to allow us to undertake work at very competitive prices.

1. As an independent business rather than a franchise, we are able to buy our parts direct from the manufacturers' OUTLETS as opposed to a FRANCHISED distributor. This can result in huge savings, which we pass on to our customers.
2. The above situation contributes to our high volume of business activity. This in turn enables us to cover our costs and thus keep our charging low.

As a result of these factors we are able to charge the very low rate of £25 per hour for most of our work, which can be less than half of the rate of a franchise garage. This represents remarkable value, as no corners have been cut to achieve this. The service level is first class and our customers return time and again, allowing us to sustain this rate.

The site is manned 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.

We have a limited number of courtesy vehicles. Please enquire about availability and pre-book when you booking your service if a courtesy vehicle is important to you.
